![]() ![]() This is a preview of our blessed Rapture!Īfter this I looked, and there in heaven was an open door. This visit starts with an open door and a voice like a trumpet, and then immediately John is before the Throne Room of Heaven. The Revelation of Jesus Christ takes a turn when John is taken up to Heaven, as outlined in Revelation 4. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. (Revelation 20:4-6) And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. ![]() But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. (Revelation 7:9-17) Those involved in the first resurrection will already be raised to life prior to the 1,000-year reign of Christ called the millennium:Īnd I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. He will guide them to springs of living waters,Īnd God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. The One seated on the throne will shelter them:įor the Lamb who is at the center of the throne ![]() They washed their robes and made them whiteįor this reason they are before the throne of God,Īnd they serve Him day and night in His sanctuary. These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. Then one of the elders asked me, “Who are these people robed in white, and where did they come from?” And they cried out in a loud voice:Īll the angels stood around the throne, the elders, and the four living creatures, and they fell facedown before the throne and worshiped God, saying: They were robed in white with palm branches in their hands. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) This first resurrection also includes the resurrected Christian martyrs from the Tribulation period:Īfter this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. Therefore encourage one another with these words. Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. For we say this to you by a revelation from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep. Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. (Matthew 27:52-53) This first resurrection includes those who return to life at the Rapture (the “dead in Christ” and believers alive at the Rapture): And they came out of the tombs after His resurrection, entered the holy city, and appeared to many. The tombs were also opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. There was a resurrection of the Jerusalem saints which should be included in our consideration of the first resurrection: Jesus Christ Himself (the “first fruits”), paved the way for the resurrection of all who believe in Him:īut now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. The first resurrection takes place in various stages. “And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” (Luke 14:14) and the “resurrection of life”:ĭo not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come out-those who have done good things, to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked things, to the resurrection of judgment. It corresponds with Jesus’ teaching of the “resurrection of the righteous”: The first voice that I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” The first resurrection is the raising of all believers. After this I looked, and there in heaven was an open door. ![]()
